The Sussex Contemporary Exhibition (The Sussex) is probably the world’s largest showcase of art from living Sussex artists. This is our third year and we are going to be bigger and better.

Thanks to Lewes District Council, we are taking over the top floor of the historic Marine Workshops in Newhaven with commanding views across the South Downs and the River Ouse out to sea. The exhibition will be free to visit and all artwork is also for sale.

The Sussex has attracted over 15,000 visitors over the past two years, and we can’t wait to show you this year’s exhibition which has the theme ‘duality’.

If you are interested in a private curated tour for your art group, school or college please get in touch.

The venue has ample parking and is next door to the station, bus stops and even a ferry terminal. The entrance to the building is on the river side so look out for the signs.

We are on the top floor in the BN9 suite so follow the signs to the (small) lift or if you want to get your steps in there is a staircase to the top.

The exhibition is completely free to visit.
