Lewes Makers Market Project.

Lewes Friday Food Market CIC has a special place in our hearts here at Sussex Contemporary, Jo, our Creative Director, used to be a street food trader there, and still talks about the relationships built with customers and producers that trade there.

Jo has been asked by the CIC directors, to manage the makers market that’s held in the market tower on the second Saturday of the month.

She's decided on having clear opportunities for each market, focusing on a mix of gifting events and disciplines. She’s arranged for guest curators for some of the specialist markets and is in talks with other attractions and establishments in Lewes to ensure the market is a destination for local and visiting customers. Jo’s looking for the best Sussex-based makers, craftspeople, and artisans to join these beautiful showcases.

We will be celebrating the handmade at every market.

Any discipline can apply for gifting event markets (mothers Day/fathers Day/Christmas)

Please only apply for single discipline markets where you use the specific discipline (ceramic/print/textiles)

Maximum 19 stalls per market, every entry is considered, and public liability insurance certification is required

7th December 2024 CHRISTMAS MARKET 10 am - 4 pm

The cost per market is £40 per maker per market.

Payment is required upon selection to secure and confirm your space.

All exhibitors are supplied with a designated space, there is a mix of undercover stalls. The maker’s market is open-air, we provide cover to ensure it can run in all weathers. Makers are to bring their table/display/chair.
